Mepilex Border Ag by Mölnlycke is a sterile, antimicrobial polyurethane foam dressing with a Safetac silicone adhesive border and an ionic silver wound contact layer. Designed for the management of moderate to highly exuding acute and chronic wounds, this 10 x 10 cm dressing combines high absorbency, conformability and sustained antimicrobial protection to help reduce bacterial bioburden while maintaining a moist healing environment.

Ingredients and Materials

Primary components: polyurethane foam absorbent core, ionic silver-containing wound contact layer, Safetac silicone adhesive border, breathable backing film and sterile packaging. Free from latex. Manufactured by Mölnlycke Healthcare to medical device standards.

How to Use

1. Cleanse and assess the wound according to local protocol. Pat dry peri-wound skin.

2. Select the correct size (ensure at least 1–2 cm overlap onto intact skin). Remove release film.

3. Apply dressing with adhesive border onto surrounding intact skin; smooth gently to secure. Avoid stretching the dressing.

4. Inspect regularly; replace earlier if exudate leaks, the dressing becomes saturated or per clinical judgement. Typical wear-time up to 7 days.

5. To remove: gently peel off or stretch the adhesive border to minimise discomfort. Dispose of as clinical waste where required.

Intended for patients with acute or chronic exuding wounds that require antimicrobial protection and atraumatic dressing changes. Suitable for adults and children under clinical supervision. Widely used in community nursing, hospitals, surgical care and specialist wound clinics.

Caution & Storage

Caution: Do not use if allergic to silver or any dressing components. Use with caution on heavily bleeding wounds. Assess for signs of infection and seek clinical advice for systemic infection. For external use only. If adverse reactions occur, discontinue and consult a healthcare professional.

Storage: Store in original packaging at room temperature away from direct sunlight and moisture. Single sterile unit; do not use if packaging is damaged.
